Postcards from Paradise: The Purloined Poppies

Sometimes one cannot resist a certain kind of beauty,
Passion overcomes all sense of propriety
and paint begins to splash merrily all about.

A tale had been told of lost friends,
and all of that story rang true
in a place within my own heart.
I chose not to lose
that shared story.
So,
 I captured these purloined poppies
 from dear Rebecca
to share as my offering
for Postcards from Paradise.

A cherished friend

Your bright tenderness
is sweetness tending the soul.
Love bursts from my brush.

Yesterday I spent the day with a dear friend,
a magical creature who dwells with birds and gnomes
fairies and herds of doxies.
She celebrated her birthday by giving away
 the most luscious of cupcakes.
Recipes and hugs went along as prizes.
Her generosity and happiness
would overflow any cup,
river,
or Ocean.

This haiku is for Karin,
who loves to hear
any voice call her name.
She inspires my heart as well as my brush.

Haiku My Heart Friday: Family

The Ancient and traditional
Barnes family Sparkler Dance

In Dances of fire
Our hearts sang and laughter reigned
together in joy

This was my heart on July 4th
Exploding with happiness
surrounded by love.

I have been taught
by life
and faith
that our true treasures
are things that cannot be seen or hoarded.
Only felt.
Only given,
then to be received, as a gift forever.

We once lost each other
to time and space.
Now we are found. Now we stand together.
Now holding onto each other with both hands
and our hearts.

Please go to Recuerda Mi Corazon
and visit with the amazing heart of Rebecca and the many other heartlights that open on Haiku my heart Fridays

Flying home with a gift to share........

Aloha
I have flown home with a joyful heart.
Home is a place with as many wonders as any other.
I was met with much excitement....

And much love.
On top of all that, I was juried into a wonderful exhibit.
Sold a painting immediately.
Partied with two classes to celebrate
my publications in
And
While in Maryland, we found copies in Baltimore and Philadelphia.
A friend asked:What page?
I directed them to the table of contents.
Such fun to see my name there, too!
Thank you Somerset!!
Because I am happy dancing almost constantly:

I want to share my joy.
So....
I will be having a sale in my Etsy shop beginning Sunday.
There will be TWO original paintings..brand new postings to the shop.
At a discounted price just for my readers.
I so enjoyed reading your comments when I was away.
So nice not to be forgotten.
Check back on Sunday for the deal.
It will only be available for ONE week.
and then it will dance away.
But don't worry,
I will still be here, painting madly,
dancing with my shadow
in the light of the deliciously full moon.

Coming home

No photos today...can't post from where I am in lovely Maryland. It has been a wonderful visit filled with great meals, magical evenings of fireworks and lovely hot tub soaks. Beloved nephews drove hours bearing pies and wines as gifts. Brothers exhibited their new casas...and they are casas! Wedding plans were tossed about and websites in Scotland surfed and noted. Every hour has been packed with adventures of some sort.Yes...I did take photos..plenty of them to share with you.

I will wing homeward tomorrow evening to my dear husband and Demi-Dog. ..and I am ready to be home and take all my new experiences and adventures into my studio and create dolphin and crab shapes, curly wave and bright exploding fountains of light with my paints.

See you all very soon.
